It's something that has worked in the past for our one-day side, particularly with the gruelling workload of one-day cricket.
With a hectic schedule ahead - we'll play something like 21 Tests and 22 one-dayers in the next 12 months - the need to rest blokes is a key consideration.
But I don't expect there to be too much chopping and changing this summer.
Regarding the Test arena, the team has been told that rotation will not be happening.
We'll be picking our best side every time.
Basically, if you are selected and fit to play, you will play.
No one will be asked to step aside to make way for another player, which is good to know, because wearing the baggy green is special to me and each of the guys.
For the one-dayers, my understanding is the full-strength side will take the field unless someone is injured or showing major signs of fatigue.
The public wants to see the best team. But, on the other hand, Joe Public may not get to see a guy like Brett Lee if he's run himself into the ground and can't play for months. So, it's a balancing act.
In the past, some fit guys have been rested to give other blokes a chance. But the workload will be so high this summer I daresay some guys will need a rest from time to time.
Meanwhile, the make-up of the Boxing Day Test side to face India has caused some intrigue, especially with the cloud over Stuey MacGill's fitness - and his Test future.
There's been a push for us to play a four-man pace attack, but I reckon it would be a mistake to go to Melbourne without a spinner.
The game will start with a bit of grass on the wicket, but by the third day the wicket will be flat and that's when you will need someone who's a genuine spinner.
If Stuey isn't right, Brad Hogg should be one of the frontline contenders.
I know he's been pigeonholed as a bit of a one-day specialist, but I don't see a problem with Brad playing Test cricket.
As for my ankle injury, it's progressing well. I won't be having surgery. I plan to play the one-day match for the Redbacks on Wednesday.
