Bangkok (OPENPRESS) November 28, 2007 -- Fitcorp Asia, based in Bangkok, is Thailand's leading Fitness and Athlete Performance Company, and is driving golf performance through golf fitness and conditioning, mental toughness mentoring and golf nutrition to enhance the performance of all golfers - beginners, amateurs as well as teaching and touring professionals.

The Titleist Performance Institute is the global leader in golf fitness conditioning and research. Headed by Dr. Greg Rose, TPI has reached international recognition and involves the accumulation of 11 years of research studying the best golfers in the world and how the human body affects the golf swing.

This knowledge allows us to accurately assess golfers' strengths, weaknesses and imbalances using the same protocols as the PGA and LPGA. Being able to assess a person's physical capabilities ensures we develop specific programs designed to improve both function and performance.

"The future of golf lies in fitness and conditioning. Swing mechanics can only take a player so far, and if their swing mechanics are restricted, then the only way to improve swing mechanics is by developing the human body to get into correct position, maintain position and to generate correct sequencing to optimize performance," according to Daniel Remon. Golf fitness is today's reality, however the future of golf is really incorporating the missing components of golf performance enhancement through the blend fusion of sports specific fitness and conditioning, nutrition/supplementation and mental toughness with swing mechanics".

When working with players of all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes, all require specific needs, and are all unique, There is no 'one size fits all' methodology. Especially with junior players, it is essential to focus on improving movement patterns, sequencing, balance and co-ordination rather than specific strength, speed and power to maximize performance and prevent injuries.

With so many young players taking an interest in golf it is crucial that we condition them according to their age and physical make up and develop improved efficiency of swing mechanics while minimizing stress on joints and musculature.

Daniel continues, "I see so many teaching professionals pull a student and their club into position while teaching, when in reality, the student simply isn't able to get into the desired position due to their physical limitations whether it is poor flexibility, poor stability and poor mobility through the required joints and muscles used in golf.

"Testing is paramount to establish the needs of each individual. We can look at the video analysis of a person's swing and take a guess at what their physical limitations are, but we would be guessing. Only after testing can we determine what their physical limitations are, and then conclude what their 'probable' swing faults are likely to be...Without a test, it's just a guess!" He said.

The first 6-8 weeks of conditioning require predominantly body weight exercises only, untill we can correct imbalances, weaknesses and physical limitations. From there we can develop sound functional strength training programs to maxmise power and performance.

"We are now witnessing a new trend in the industry, and Fitcorp Asia is leading this revolution" he said. Working with Thailand's top golfing academies including PGT Academy, Heartland Golf Schools and Doug Hood Golf School, ensures that the future of Thailand's golfers is strong and promising."

In addition to private conditioning and mental toughness mentoring, Daniel and his team also present seminars on golf performance. Fitcorp Asia are currently working with the National Team through the Thai Amateur Ladies Golf Association (TALGA) and Asia's best junior talent in conjunction with the Faldo Asia Series in Thailand and China.
